Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 3, 2026  ·  Applies to app version 1.0.4 and later

Mindcart-Never Forget a Thing ("the App") is designed to help you organize and manage your shopping lists. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the App handles, where it is stored, and the choices you have. It applies to App version 1.0.4 and later.

1. Information We Collect

Starting with version 1.0.4, the App saves your shopping list data to the cloud so it can be backed up, restored, and synced across your devices and with family members you choose to share with.

We may collect and store the following information:

  • Shopping list data: list names, item names, quantities and units, prices, notes, and purchased or pending item status
  • Account or sign-in information: such as your email address or sign-in identifier, if you sign in to use cloud features
  • Family share information: the family groups you create or join, invitations you send or accept, and which members have access to a shared list
  • Basic technical information: such as device type, App version, and error or crash information needed to keep the service working

We do not ask for your payment card details, contacts, or precise location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to:

  • Save and restore your shopping lists
  • Sync your lists across your devices
  • Let you share lists with family members you invite
  • Keep the App secure, fix problems, and improve reliability

3. Data Stored on Your Device and in the Cloud

The App still keeps a copy of your lists on your device so it can work offline. When you are online, changes are synced to our cloud storage and then to your other devices and shared family members.

Your shopping list data is stored on servers operated by our cloud service provider on our behalf. Data is encrypted in transit, and access to stored data is restricted.

4. Family Share

When you invite someone to a Family Share group or shared list, every member of that group can view, add, edit, and check off items on the shared list, and can see basic member details such as a display name or email address.

Only share lists with people you trust. You can remove a member or leave a family group at any time, which ends that person's access to the shared list. Items already added to a shared list are visible to the other members of that list.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use your shopping lists for advertising.

We share information only:

  • With the cloud and infrastructure providers that host and operate the service for us
  • With family members you choose to share a list with
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the App

6. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party cloud services to store, sync, and (if applicable) authenticate your data. These providers process data only on our instructions and under their own privacy and security terms.

If we add other third-party services that collect or process user data, such as analytics, advertising, or crash reporting, we will update this Privacy Policy to explain what is collected and how it is used.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your cloud data for as long as you use the App or until you ask us to delete it. You can delete individual items or lists in the App at any time, and these are removed from the cloud on sync.

To delete your account and all associated cloud data, contact us using the email below. Deleted data may remain in secure backups for a limited period before it is permanently erased. Data stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the App.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. You can exercise these rights by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data stored in the cloud. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for keeping your device and sign-in details protected.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date and app version.
